Fedor van der Post, CEO of Liminal by WMC, introduced the company and its ambitions in the battery supply chain as part of the "Scale-up pitches: Dutch companies" session. When asked what Liminal needs to grow and scale in the Dutch market, Fedor pointed to larger scale development capital as well as talent development. He said that the Netherlands needs more engineers, technicians, and specialists who understand the battery and -materials market, with the right education available to train them.
Battery Day brings together manufacturers, recyclers, researchers, and investors from across the Dutch and wider European battery ecosystem. For the Liminal by WMC team, the day was a chance to meet companies working towards the same goal for the Dutch battery sector. Special thanks to LeydenJar, LionVolt, ORE Energy, and Tulip Tech who participated with their scale up pitches and shared insights on next-generation battery anodes, long duration energy storage, and batteries for defence. It was great to see how much of this work is happening in the Netherlands.
