About the Role

As Associate Project Developer, you will take Liminal’s projects to the next level, developing assets such as a battery recycling facility in The Netherlands and a Cobalt refinery in Canada. For these and prospective projects, you will do market research and technical analysis (with a focus on chemical engineering). To present your findings to your colleagues and pitch the projects to investors, you will create clear memoranda, crisp presentations, marketing materials, as well as directly engage with customers. As your experience grows, you will manage your own workstreams for the projects. From doing subsidy applications, writing investment memorandums and doing permitting checks to quality assurance on process equipment, you will get experience with a wide variety of work.

Key Responsibilities

Providing support in a range of project development activities, including technical, commercial, financial, regulatory, and market analysis, for current and prospective projects and presenting findings through various mediums

Building and maintaining relationships with prospective feedstock providers, off-takers, and joint venture partners, including assisting in the preparation of related legal agreements

Drafting, together with management, clear business cases and investment memorandums for potential investors

Communicating directly and proactively with customers and other internal and external stakeholders to advance project-related work and build external relationships

Contributing to feasibility studies and subsidy applications as required

As your experience increases, you will gradually get more ownership of managing individual workstreams in relation to project development

Managing a high degree of autonomy, with the expectation that you will work in the weekly project flows

Education and Qualifications

Requirements of the position:

• Master of Science degree in natural sciences, engineering or finance with proven academic excellence

• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail

• Proven ability to work in a self-starting, structured and responsible manner

• Strong presentation skills and communication skills, excellent oral and written command of English

• Strong affinity with relationship building

• Ability to adapt to a highly dynamic start-up/scale-up environment with evolving priorities and projects
