As a Back-End Developer at WMC, you will build and improve the back end of a trade validation platform from scratch. You develop robust services and APIs that translate complex trading and risk processes into reliable, scalable systems. You take ownership of the business logic, data models, andintegrations that form the backbone of the platform.
You work closely with the Front-End Developer and the data team to align on APIs, workflows, and system design. Your initial focus is on delivering a solid solution/application in Azure, after which you continuously improve architecture, performance, and security as the platform matures. You combine hands-on engineering with a pragmatic mindset and take responsibility from design through to deployment and operations.
• Designing and building scalable back-end services using .NET and Python
• Developing and maintaining data models in SQL with a focus on integrity and performance
• Exposing and managing APIs that support front-end workflows and integrations
• Deploying and operating services within Microsoft Azure environments
• Ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of the platform
• Monitoring, debugging, and improving production systems
• Contributing to architectural decisions around scalability and long-term maintainability
• At least 4 years of experience developing and maintaining back-end applications ina production environment
• You have experience and enjoy building products from scratch, preferably in a scaleup environment.
• A completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
• Strong programming skills in .NET, SQL, and Python, with experience working in Microsoft Azure environments
• Solid experience designing APIs, defining architecture, and managing deployments
• Independent, proactive, and comfortable collaborating close with data team members
• A key developers role with ownership over the architecture and user experience of a business-critical platform
