Purpose

As a BI Lead at WMC, you play a key role in a data-driven organization, contributing to the world’s energy transition towards a more efficient, stable, and sustainable economy. This role requires a combination of strong analytical skills, business acumen, and stakeholder management skills to drive the company and its data environment to the next level.

Your Role

As a BI Lead at WMC, you act as the crucial link between business and data, transforming complex trading and inventory processes into actionable insights and automated solutions that drive real business value. You thrive on understanding various parts of the business such as book and transaction management, inventory tracking, and commercial workflows, translating them into intuitive Power BI reports or automated actionable alerts that enhance decision-making. By challenging and collaborating with commercial teams, you ensure data is leveraged to optimize trading strategies, reduce risk, and improve operational efficiency. While you appreciate the reliability of established BI tools and models, you’re always looking for opportunities to innovate that streamline processes and increase profitability. Your role is pivotal in ensuring WMC stays ahead in the fast-moving commodity trading industry, using data to drive smarter, faster decisions that impact the bottom line.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and drive the organization's transition to a data-driven way of working.
• Collaborate with and challenge business teams to identify requirements and translate them into data-drive solutions.
• Act as a bridge between Data & IT and multiple commercial teams within WMC.
• Design and develop Power BI reports in close collaboration with the business.
• Maintain and optimize the SQL data warehouse.

Education and Qualifications

• At least 3 years of relevant working experience.
• Proficiency with Python, SQL and PowerBI.
• Proficiency with data (structures) and Business modelling.
• Experience with Azure technologies (Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Server).
