We have some difficult and sad news to share with our community. This month, WMC and Orano mourn the passing of our beloved and talented colleague, Kun (Christina) Zhang.

Throughout Kun’s 15+ years working in commercial management and trading within the nuclear fuel industry, she has made an outstanding impact on her colleagues, customers, partners and many organizations. WMC was fortunate to have Kun among its Nuclear Team since September 2023, and Orano had the privilege of employing Kun for the 14 years prior.

“Kun was a dedicated professional who always put her work first and was the consummate team player. WMC is honoured to have worked alongside her as she truly exemplified our company values and was greatly respected in our industry,” expressed Mandeep Ludu, Head of Nuclear Fuel, WMC. “Kun was a very smart, kind and personable professional woman, but more importantly a friend. We are heartbroken and will miss her dearly.”

“Kun has occupied various positions at Orano, starting with Areva University, then Trader at UG and later Sales Manager, U3O8 Producer Accounts. She loved to work and interact with colleagues and customers. She made many friends everywhere; it made her happy and proud. We have been blessed to work and enjoy friendship with Kun over these years and we will miss her very much; we will keep the memory of a beautiful heart” expressed Jean-Michel Guiheux, Vice President at Orano.

Kun will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and working with her. We are all profoundly saddened by this unexpected loss and extend our heartfelt condolences to Kun’s friends and family.
